"La Canada Jr. High School opened in 1950. . ."
Located at 1100 Foothill Boulevard, this school was built to accommodate 450 students, but 525 were enrolled the first year. Increased enrollments made staggered sessions necessary the following year, and a new wing of eight classrooms was completed in February 1952. By 1953 it was again necessary to go on staggered day sessions because the enrollment had reached 848 and by 1954, enrollment almost reached 1000 students. The Parent-Teacher Association was established in 1950 and the Fathers' Council in 1952. 81 Years of Public Education in Pasadena, June 1955
