Eliot Junior High School
As it looked in the early 1950's.
During one of the frequent Santa Ana wind storms that whip through the foothills, the wind uprooted the huge tree and toppled it into the "pond" area behind the wall.

The flash from the camera dimly lit the huge room but even after fifty years passing,  little change, if any is evident.

Rear: Jim Carr on bass, Allan LaMotte on trombone, Pete Alexander, tenor sax, Bob Higbee alto sax,  Dick Crouter on clarinet and the piano.

Jim Carr, Jay Clawson and Kieth  LaMotte were Muir Class of 1956 - - -  the others Class of 1955.

Eliot and the old Band Room

North side of Eliot Junior High School, showing the old band room behind the auditorium.  The old steps leading up to the door on the second floor is gone. So is the door, which was right above the first floor door.
